To Thursday Poets Rally Participants

Please read and answer the following questions before participating Poets Rally week 24.

#1: Is your poem for Poets Rally week 24 original? The general requirement for an entry poem is: no more than 30 lines, not exceed 250 words. Please say YES or NO.

#2: By counting you in, you are automatically a participant, which implies that you allow Jingle, the host, and other participants from the Rally unlimited access to your blog posts on that week, and you will NOT complain about how often people have visited or commented for your work.  Do you agree? Please give a clear YES or NO.

#3: To be counted as active poet next time, you must meet the requirements: 1): Return favors to those who have commented for you, 2): visit and comment for 18 poets that are NEW to you from participants list (for first time participants)  or fresh poets list. Are you going to do it with your best knowledge? Please say YES or No, if No or Not Sure, you are out of Poets Rally …(You participate ONLY if you can meet the requirement, if there is an issue, you shall not try to participate on that week until you are ready to come later…)

#4: If you have answered YES to the three questions above,  now, you are expected to keep your words.  Once you fulfill your weekly requirement, you are formally a participant.  Jingle will honor your work by posting your entry poem on Promising Poets’ Parking Lot, Do you want your entry poem to be published on this site by Jingle? YES or No, please answer.  (This is optional, no punishment for saying NO)

#5: If you are nominated for The Perfect Poet Award, are You going to accept the award, following the rules to post a poem and nominate another previous participant? Please say YES or NO.  To avoid frustration or confusion, Jingle awards those who said YES

#6: As a participant, you are representing Thursday Poets Rally, no personal biases, no negative comments, no public or email gossips or complaints are encouraged or tolerated. In particular, Jingle does NOT encourage personal email communications, gossips based on assumptions, or invitations of other poets to any online chats.  You are expected to follow the rules, focus on public commenting and encouraging, you do your own contribution, and respect decisions made by fellow poets or Jingle…Are you willing to work on building a positive, encouraging, and respectful poetry community by being modest, cool, and professional? Please respond.

Please answer all 6 questions, print out a hard copy for references before proceeding to comment for fresh poets…Thank you and have fun!

For those who said YES, but could not keep your promises, you will not be able to participate next time… No fun playing tricks here…

Quality and trust are the most important factors, Jingle will waste NO time to handle those who opt to stir up troubles in this community.

PS: This agreement is effective on June 30, 2010….

    • Hi Jingle.. I’ve just finished visiting 18 fresh poets from your list – the first 18 on the list and have read and commented on each poem/story I saw on all 18 webpages. It has been a journey of discovery and delight!. Now I must sleep as it is very late in my time zone. Thanks Jingle …and thanks to all of the poets whom I visited. I am honored to read your creative and wonderful writing.:)
      Cheers!

  47. suzicate says:

Jingle, I am a little confused. I thought there was no rally this week. I see that it says week July 1-7, does this mean I can still post that we have all week to post and visit or is it still on Thurs. I did not post earlier today, but I can post now. Not sure if it’s over or if I should post my poem with acceptance and nomination or if it’s too late. Tell you what I will post now and visit and comment tomorrow. If you want me to take off the acceptance award, I will. I just don’t want to do the wrongly. I appreciate all that you ahve done and continue to do for the community. And yeses on all accounts for supporting the rally.

  68. Leonie says:

Okay, now that my week has calmed down I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to do this :)

    1. Yes.
    2. Of course.
    3. Yes.
    4. Sure!
    5. Aah, I’d rather not, so no.
    6. Absolutely yes.

    • Leonie says:

Ah, wait – I see now I’m too late. I apologize. As I said, this whole past week has been insanely busy for me (and it’s still the 6th here, not yet the 7th), so I didn’t even really have the time to properly sit down and figure out what the Poet’s Rally is/exactly how it works until yesterday! Which I’m sad about because it’s a wonderful idea. I’m currently happily in the middle of reading & commenting on the other poets, which I’ll continue to do since reading poetry is hardly work, but if my tardiness bars me from participating again I can live with that.

      • Jingle says:

        not too late,
you can do it within an hour by commenting for 18 poets,

        I already linked you in,
        simply visit and comment now..
listen to me and trust me. ;)

  69. revbillcook says:

      thank you. ;)

  71. Ruhig says:

    I hear the Jingle
    The slight little jam
    That slips through complex
    Compounded currents
    In agreement
    With stated lines of play

    Ruhig

Yes to all! Very glad to be invited into your community

  76. Hi Jingle! My work schedule is light enough where I am finally able to join in again for this next week and say YES to all of the questions :) I look forward to it all! I may not be able to finish commenting back to people all at once, but it WILL be done before next Thursday! There’s only one thing that I am now confused about… I see many people saying it is too late. Is it too late to be counted in? I thought poems just needed to be up by thursday.

  77. mudwords says:

Hi Jingle! I’ve been very busy with the masters for the past few months so I haven’t been online very much. I’m super impressed with how organised and dedicated you are with this whole thing, it’s really awesome to see! Its probably too late for this week, but I’ve got a new poem up: http://mudwords.wordpress.com/2010/07/08/vine-eyes/

Of course, the answer to those questions is a resounding yes :) I’m excited to check out the entries, I’ll do that over the next couple of days. Take care!

  82. ziibi says:

    Jingle and everyone
I have three blogs and the main one is a column not the poetry blog. I was beginning to see that people would click on me and were brought not to the poetry but the column. So, to fix that I started a new account with a slightly different username. Now I am ziibi1 instead of ziibi. On our blog, Adventures in Poesy, under my page there are links to my column River’s Ruminations and the blog Stumbled & Standing. I hope this is not to confusing and fixes any confusion there might have been with all these blogs of mine.

    • ziibi1 says:

Now I am goofing up. I do believe I need more coffee and to change the picture on the other account. This is the correct link to Adventures in Poesy. Lol! Have a wonderful Sunday everyone. :)
