The Fireworks In A Far Away City She Sees On Her Horse (Short Story Slam Week 25)

Bluebell Books Twitter Club Short Story Slam Week 25

No gunshots,
No lightening after thunder,
No sirens,
No bloody screams,
But a blossom of cracking
colors that celebrates July 4th,
They burst from ground near the lake,
Skyrocketing away and instantly,
On an abrupt hiss, darkness
eats them, until next explode,
Brilliant delicacy,
Bellflowers fly,
Pop open, shine as
a beautiful shaped fire blossom,
then fade,
The sprinkling of shooting stars,
Hundreds of thousands of eyes
watch them go wild,
The water swallows the show
with the sponge of its silence.
